Another geolocation challenge.
The thing that really stands out as unique is that traffic mirror with the black and white lines.
So I did a Google search for just that part of the image, and most of the results seemed to be from France, which checks out from all the information I received from Julia.
I was also able to find the bench too, made in France.
So we are looking for a luxurious location in the South of France. There are A LOT of fancy places in the South of France. I hope the challenge doesn’t expect you to comb through each coastal city?
I also noticed that it appears to be taken on a hill, and between the buildings appears to be the horizon.
I don’t know if I can trust that though, because in the last geolocation challenge they edited out some stuff from the pic. You can see the trees to the right are hiding a brighter yellow building.
So this is where I spent an embarrassingly long amount of time looking through the South of France on Google Maps, mostly in Nice, Monaco, and Saint-Tropez, while ignoring something that was right in front of my face.
In the initial Google Images results with the whole photo, it seemed like the results didn’t provide any insight, but if you focus just on the pink building and scroll down a little ways, you will eventually see a real estate listing from a German website.
This is the exact same building in the photo. You will have to translate the webpage from German, but it says this is an old building near Jardin Exotique in Monaco.
So I went to that area and just searched around until I found them.
If you turn around on street view, here is the little meeting alcove hidden behind the flower bushes.
Here’s an aerial view.
The next dreadful challenge is getting the format of the address correct. That entire building where the benches are is a school, but none of the address formats I used worked.
This is one of the variations I was putting in. I’m not going to waste any more time on this. I know I found the correct meeting place and that’s good enough for me.
Let me know if any of you find the correct answer format for this one.
